about

This was written during the first lockdown and orignally recorded remotely. It was a reflection of the eerie weirdness felt when walking around the empty streets and a tribute to those apocalypse horror movies.

lyrics

I woke up this morning in a hospital bed
With wires and tubes taped to my head
I pushed the button but no one came
I hollered out, 'Hey!' but just the same.
I made my way into the corridor
I searched the ward but no one I saw
I called my good lady to drive me home
But there's no signal to my phone.

I think I'm living in a movie set
War of the Worlds I bet
Or did I wake in the apocalypse
Was it zombies or Captain Tripps?

Why are there no people here?
Where did they all disappear?
Did anybody else survive?
Or am I the only man alive?

Woke up in a horror movie
Sounds cool but it's not so groovy
Or did someone forget to mention
That had to move me to another dimension

Now I'm walking into town
My footsteps echoing all around
The streets are deserted, it's plain to see
That this is the end of humanity!

I think I'm living in a movie set
Dawn of the Dead I bet
Or did I wake in the apocalypse
Was it zombies or Captain Tripps?
Woke up in a horror movie
Sounds cool but it's not so groovy
Or did someone forget to mention
That had to move me to another dimension
